Hilda Lynn and her sister, Tuck, were born on May 2, 2020. She is a Scottish Fold and came to the Cat Colloquium from a private rescue organization in Caroline County. Hilda is a little smaller than her sister, but was bigger when she arrived in early August, 2020. Hilda is very shy, sweet and purrs like a train. She is a beautiful silver color. Hilda is not the most social of cats at the Colloquium but she comes alive when a fly enters the room!

Our Hilda Lynn has been given two names in memorial of two women that we keep close. Hilda Beatrice Hopkins was a life-long resident on Front Street in Chestertown. She was often seen on her folding, lawn chair greeting visitors as they walked to Wilmer Park. She kept dog biscuits in her mailbox for those in the know. We are sure she loved cats too. We were very fond of her. Hilda Lynn gets her first name from this lovely woman.

A.J. Linero works in the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s office. She was instrumental in helping the Cat Colloquium maneuver the multitude of regulations allowing cats in the front window of the Stam’s Building at 215 High Street. This window allows the cats to watch pedestrians on High and Stams Luncheonette patrons - a window to the outside providing constant entertainment. I might also add, that the window is equally entertaining for the people on the other side. For her help and endless patience, Hilda’s middle name, Lynn, is a tribute to Ms. Linero.

Hilda Lynn is shy. She can be found usually laying on the desk in the office waiting patiently to be combed. Recently, she has taken a liking to Rose.
